Texas History, Culture, and People

By 2050, there will be nearly twice as many Texans as there are today. What will these natives and newcomers know about this state? How will they feel about their inheritance? What is the story we will tell them? How will they find their place in this story?

At the Texas Center, we teach newcomers the history and culture they are inheriting. The incredible story they have chosen to become a part of.

Texas has always been an intersection of people, cultures, and ideas, and populated by newcomers. As a result, it has become an exceptionally diverse state with a history of redeeming, restoring, and transforming ordinary individuals into people who achieve the extraordinary.

At the Texas Center, we study, teach, explore, explain, and celebrate those differences. While embracing the latest technologies and with an eye fixed firmly on the future, we have created a place where the past can breathe.

This is the hope and the aim of the Texas Center, to teach all 30 million of us what has been and what is to come so that they can find their place in this story.
