We have momentum. The Texas Center has made an important impact through its work with the Texas Education Agency and its overhaul of the social studies curriculum in public schools. This journey led to the E Pluribus Texas® project, the creation of honest and trustworthy video and curriculum on Texas history and culture for use in the K-16 classrooms.
From kindergarten through college, we want future Texans to know how to add their story to the great saga of our state. As a people, Texans have been organically multi-cultural—there is nothing forced or artificial about the great cultural fusion that makes the Lone Star State special, perhaps even exceptional.
Texas is a great expression of the American idea. The framers of this United States envisioned a government that created an environment where its citizens could pursue their happiness. The Constitution was the scaffolding for this great design. Texas is where this dream was tested and proved. What emerged was a place that put the republican rhetoric of Philadelphia into action under difficult and uncomfortable circumstances and proved to the world that these principles . . . worked!
